US #1 Larry Butler was eliminated from the event following a narrow 5-3 defeat at the hands of Raymond Van Barneveld in their final Group E match this evening.  Butler outscored the Dutchman, but missed doubles were to prove costly.  Darts to move ahead 3-2 and 4-3 refused to go in, and allowed van Barneveld back in.  Another miss in the final leg sealed the American’s fate.

Still, Butler produced his best performance of the GSoD, and proved yet again that he is a threat at the very highest level.  There will be other opportunities…
