Sadly, Darin Young’s quest for PDC glory ended late this evening, as he went down to Terry Jenkins by a score of 3 sets to 1.  Young started in promising fashion, checking out from 76 for the first leg, and then from 100 to clinch the set in the fifth.

“Big Daddy” kept the pressure on, forging an impressive 2-0 lead in the second (posting 180’s in each leg), only for Jenkins to bounce back to win the set 3-2.  The Englishman broke Young’s throw in the first leg of the third, and held on to level the score.

American hopes were raised when Young broke Jenkins in the third leg of the fourth set, to take a 2-1 lead, but that was the last double he was destined to hit, and the three-time Antwerp Open Champion set up a second-round clash with Mark Webster.
