Reigning North American Champion Jeff Smith was the first qualifier for the 2019 main event, and was joined by Texan Leonard Gates from the second session.

In an all-Canadian final, Smith squeezed past fellow countryman Matt Campbell after being just one leg from defeat.  Gates then took on yet another Canadian – John Norman Jr. – in Tuesday evening’s final, and guaranteed an American qualifier with a 4-2 victory.

The remaining two qualifying sessions will conclude today.
