2020 William Hill World Championship

This Friday (December 13) sees the start of the William Hill World Championship.  The 27th staging of the PDC’s main event carries a total purse of £2,500,000 (approx $3,300,000), with the winner collecting a cool half a million!

The 96-player field includes two Americans, Danny Baggish and Darin Young. Baggish earned his spot thanks to his superb performance at the North Americans Championship in July, while Young qualifies virtue of his CDC ranking.  Floridian Baggish is one of 22 debutants at this year’s event, while “Big Daddy” has been a regular competitor on the PDC stage for many years.  Singapore’s Paul Lim is returning to the Ally Pally, and of course, Paul has represented the US on many occasions!

While the tournament kicks off on Friday evening, we don’t see an American in action until Saturday evening, when Young takes on five-time World Champ Raymond van Barneveld.  Baggish takes to the oche 24 hours later when he faces England’s Andy Boulton.
