To the players and association members of the American Darts Organization,

A certain major change within the ADO has been discussed by several executive board members over the past year, including myself, and at the 2015 August meeting it was finally voted on.  The outcome was unanimous, with the following results:

The ADO Office will no longer employ hourly staff – effective October 17, 2015.
The current ADO office will be permanently closed on October 31, 2015.

Until further notice, please mail all ADO correspondence to:

This move will save the ADO thousands of dollars, and allow us to give back to the players what is rightfully theirs.  One of the first things I will push for from the board is an increase in the payouts for the Cricket and 501 National championships.  Although I am a year behind schedule with the changes I wanted to make when I took over as President in January 2014 (and I blame no one but myself), we are finally moving in the direction that is needed to make the ADO an efficient – and viable – organization.

I would also like to respond to some criticism the ADO has received for not supporting other dart organizations in the United States.  Whether it be the MLD, NWDS or the CDC, I have wished the organizations and events the very best of luck.  I have also personally congratulated the winners.  I believe these organizations are great for the American players and as stated privately to them, I continue to wish them nothing but the best.  My email is always open if you wish to communicate.

There have been a number of people using social media to post false information about me, other individual ADO representatives, and the ADO as a whole.  I do not wish to respond via Facebook as I wish to use that for personal posts about my family and friends.  I will, however, start responding to false accusations and posts using the ADO website.  Please feel free to email me directly at president@adodarts.com to receive factual information, and not rumors or fabrications from people who don’t have a clue what is actually going on.  Similar to the tabloids, certain people don’t want to research what is fact and what is fiction; they just like to stir the pot.  These same people might even take credit for this change when in actuality; I have been discussing this change with several others before I ever became ADO president.

I will be running again for ADO President for 2016-2017.   This change to the structure of the ADO is just the first step.  I have other plans that will benefit the players.  I know some individuals have stated they wish to take over the Presidency via a write-in vote, which is possible using the official ADO ballot, but before voting, please refer to the by-laws on eligibility regarding Executive Board Members and voting eligibility.  These include changes (expanding voting eligibility) voted in at the August Board Meeting:

Prerequisite to run for all Executive Offices except CFO:
Incumbent/past Executive Officers
Incumbent/past Area Managers with at least 2 years’ experience as AM
Incumbent/past National Youth Managers with at least 2 years’ experience as NYM
Incumbent/past Regional Directors with at least 4 years’ experience as RD

The following positions to vote for Executive Officers:
Executive Officers
Area Managers
National Youth Manager
Regional Directors (newly eligible)

Thank you kindly for your time and I hope you all look at this as a big step forward in the right direction.

My email is always open for suggestions from all players and associations.  I respond to everything.

Regards,
David Hascup
ADO President
