The 2017 WDF World Cup is being held in Japan, and both men’s and women’s squads are now four players.  The US Team is selected from two systems :

The ADO National Playoff System
One of the four National Championships, the US Team playoffs alternate between the World Cup (held in odd years), and the Americas Cup (held in even years.  These playoffs are held the previous fall, and qualify two men and two women for the US World Cup Team.

The ADO World Cup Points Race
Also qualifying two men and two women, this is based on a separate points to the ADO National Rankings.  Like the rankings, this covers a full calendar year (the year prior to the World Cup). Unlike the rankings, points are earned from tournament play only (no National Qualifier points), and rather than a total points accumulation, only the best 12 sets of points are included.

The four players advancing from the National Playoff System are immediately removed from the Points Race.

Should selection of an alternate be necessary, the alternate will be the next player in line from the particular system from which the original player qualified.  In other words, a player who qualified from the Playoff System would be replaced by an alternate from the Playoff System, and a player who qualified from the Points Race would be replaced by an alternate from the Points Race.

The final of the US Team World Cup Playoff will be held in Denver, CO, on Friday, October 14, 2016.
