The ADO Youth Program has reached new heights this year. At the Youth Nationals in August, ADO had twenty-eight participants! This is almost double the participants from last year.(see Double Eagle Summer 2007)
In response to this tremendous growth, ADO is revamping the entire youth program. Part of this process is to publicize our youth and the Scholarship Fund. All the money in the ADO Youth Scholarship Fund comes from contributions.
At the present time, the top eight finishers at the Youth Nationals get scholarships for college. We would love to be able to offer more scholarships to keep up with the increased youth participation but first there has to be enough money in the fund. At present I am putting out contribution containers at all the tournaments I attend. If anyone has any suggestions about what else I can do to increase the available scholarship funds please let me know.
Our youth are the future of darts so let's support them!

You may have noticed the dates have been removed for the Youth Nationals. You have until the end of June to get your names in, we need to have enough time for travel arrangements. Email either Katie or myself if you are running close on time.
I know how hard it is to put on a youth regional, which is why the ADO only needs a youth name and the $600.00 to qualify for the Nationals in Stamford. I hope this inspires the local organizations to hold their own qualifiers, or get together with other nearby associations. I know of several places that are doing this already. You can do it, too. It is such a thrill for all the adults and youth involved at the Nationals, I hope to see many more of you there this year.
