Overall, it was a disappointing evening for the North Americans, with only Leonard Gates making it to tomorrow’s second round. ‘Soldier” got the better of an off-color Fallon Sherrock, bouncing back from losing the first leg to win by a score of 6-2. Gates now takes on World Champ Peter Wright tomorrow evening.

There was no joy for anyone else from this side of the pond, despite some solid performances. David Cameron, Jules van Dongen, Jeff Smith, and TV debutant Doug Boehm all posted averages in excess of 90, while van Dongen’s fightback with legs of 13, 12, and 14 proved futile.
