Congratulations to Leonard Gates, who captured the $10,000 first prize, and will represent North America in the 2022/23 Cazoo World Championship! The man known as ‘Soldier’ beat Danny Baggish 6-3 in a high-quality final.

Baggish missed four darts to break Gates in the opening leg, which meant that the first five legs went with the darts – and Gates was ahead 3-2. The Texan broke Baggish in the fifth with a nice 106 check for a 15-darter. Baggish broke straight back with a 121 finish of his own, only to see his opponent repeat the feat, this time with a check out from 67!

Needing just the one leg for the W, Gates survived an opening barrage of 100, 180, from the Floridian, and it was game over.

This may give Gates a spot in the 2022/23 Cazoo World Championship, but his immediate sights are set on this evening’s action in the bet365 US Darts Masters. Results will follow…
