ADO Statement – US Team Nationals

Apologies for the delay in posting, but there were some details that needed to be finalized.

As many of you will already know, the ADO has decided to cancel the US Team Nationals due to be held at the Witch City Open in September. This means that there will be no US Team Youth Playoff either.

I am sure there will be a lot of misinformation doing the rounds, but the reason for our decision is quite simple; the players would be attempting to qualify for the 2024 WDF Americas Cup – and as it stands, we do not know if there will be a 2024 WDF Americas Cup! Therefore, we don’t see a reason to qualify players for an event that may not happen, and we weren’t prepared to wait until the last minute to notify everyone.

Don’t worry, nobody is going to miss out on anything!

For the few players who have already qualified for the US Team Nationals, instead of receiving a trip to Boston, they will receive a trip to Las Vegas for the 501 National Championship. For those US Team National Qualifiers which have not yet been held, winners will also advance to the 501 National Championship in Las Vegas. We just ask that Area Managers and Regional Directors make all the players aware of this before play starts.

We will be contacting all players individually in due course, but in the meantime, if you have any questions, please contact ADO Director of Operations Steve Brown.

However, because of the way ADO points are awarded for each of the ADO National Championships, these NQ’s will still be listed as “US Team” to allow players to receive their full ADO Points allowance.
