Lone American Stowe Buntz continued where he left off yesterday, and grabbed his second win in two matches, securing his spot in the knockout rounds! His average was a little down on his opener, but he still did enough to beat a second former World Champion – Stephen Bunting – by a score of 5-3.

The man from Virginia raced into a 2-0 lead, with legs of 15 and 17, before Bunting got on the board in the third. Buntz made it 3-1, but his opponent came agonisingly close to a perfect 9-darter in leg 5. After opening with a brace of 180’s, Bunting hit T20, T19, and just went inside the D12! It only took him one more dart to complete the leg. The pair traded the next two, but throwing first in the eighth, Buntz kicked off with a 180, and kept the advantage down to the winning 56 checkout (for a 15-darter).

With Peter Wright beating Dave Chisnall today, that guarantees that Stowe advances to the Top 16, regardless against his result against Chizzy on Tuesday.

Others who are still unbeaten after today are Michael Smith, Josh Rock, Gerwyn Price (who averaged 110.51 against Ryan Searle), Danny Noppert, Michael Van Gerwen, and Nathan Aspinall. Other than Price, ton-plus averages were recorded by Luke Humphries (again), Nathan Rafferty, and Krzysztof Ratajski (who lost). The two ladies, Beau Greaves and Fallon Sherrock, both won today (against Ricardo Pietreczko and Martijn Kleermaker respectively), and both still have a great chance of reaching the next round.
