2025 WDF World Masters Preview
With the 2025 WDF World Darts Festival well underway, it’s time to look forward to the World Masters, which gets underway on Wednesday. Following Jason Brandon’s superb victory in Sunday’s Hungarian Classic, hopes are high for a similarly spectacular performance (or performances) from the American contingent in Budapest.
The “team” that qualified for this year’s event is Jason Brandon, Leonard Gates, Kevin Luke, Robbie Phillips, Aaja Jalbert, and Carolyn Mars, with Tim Welcome and Layla Buntz flying the flag for the youths.
It’s 51 years since the inaugural World Masters in London, only Sandy Reitan has managed to lift a Masters title, when she won the women’s event in 1991. Kathy Maloney, Stacy Bromberg, and Marilyn Popp all fell one short, as did Larry Butler in 2015.
In addition to the aforementioned “US Team” representatives, there are a number of other Americans who have qualified for the tournament via tournament wins and rankings. These are:
OPEN
Kevin Collins, Tom Curtin, Charlie Harrison, Dustin Holt, Steve Krikorian, Douglas DiMichele Jr, David Fatum, Norman Madhoo, Tom Sawyer, Jeff Springer Jr.
WOMEN
Roberta Brown, Kirsten Dahl, Cheyenne Daigneault, Massiel Garcia, Melissa Gleick, Emily Kaufhold, Sally Kelly, and Jen Mounts.
OPEN YOUTH
Jeremy Demers, Jacob Fitzsimmons, Chase Honeycutt, Aidan Peele, Tim Welcome.
GIRLS
Kaylee Zerby
