2025 WDF Lakeside World Championship – Day 5
Today saw the third American in the women’s event take to the stage – Tracy Feiertag. The New Yorker has had a great year on the US WDF circuit, winning five titles, and earning a well-deserved seeding.
Making her Lakeside debut against the vastly-experienced Priscilla Steenbergen was never going to be easy, and the task was immediately made more difficult by her Dutch opponent taking out a superb 145 checkout. 1-0 quickly became 2-0, before Feiertag started finding some form in leg 3. Tracy hit a triple in each of her first five turns, to give herself a nice cushion. Sadly, the winning double was to prove elusive, and the set was lost.
The first leg of the second set was looking good, but three missed at 40 gave Steenbergen a shot at 75 – which she promptly hit. Some steady scoring next leg gave the American the first shot at the out, and she finally got on the scoreboard. A nice 16-darter (which included a 180) regained the lead for Steenbergen, but Feiertag bounced straight back to level the set for a second time.
Winning the set against the darts was always going to be tough for the Cleveland Extravaganza champ, and sure enough, a brace of 140’s saw Priscilla help herself to another 16-dart leg, and the match.
With all our women gone, that leaves David Fatum and Jason Brandon to play tomorrow, and then Jeff Springer Jr, who has a bye in the Top 32 due to the withdrawal through illness of Andy Davidson.
The tournament is being streamed live on the WDF’s YouTube Channel, and live scoring is available at DartConnect
