When players think of traveling abroad to play darts, they usually think of going to the United Kingdom, or maybe the Netherlands, or perhaps one of the Asian nations who are now so big into soft-tip.  However, there are places a lot closer and cheaper to get to, where you can combine darts, and a whole lot of fun!  Barbados is one such place!

A small (21 miles by 14 miles) independent island nation of the British Commonwealth, Barbados is located in the western North Atlantic, some 300 miles off the coast of Venezuela.  Despite its location, it is very much considered part of the Caribbean, and is a prominent tourist destination.

Darts is very popular on the island, and in fact, a group of Barbadians attended the recent NODOR Fleetwood Memorial Las Vegas Open.  Barbados is a long-time member of the WDF, and will be hosting the 2016 Americas Cup.

One of the highlights of the Barbadian darts calendar is the Harrows Barbados Darts Festival, which is now in its fourteenth year.  Drawing players from around the globe (including many Americans), it is always something very special!  The 2016 Festival runs from November 6-16, and for more details, you can check the brochure here.
