After a thrilling final day, it was the Scottish team of Gary Anderson and Peter Wright who captured the 2019 BetVictor World Cup of Darts.  Against the Irish giant-killers of Steve Lennon and William O’Connor, the second seeds bounced back from losing the first singles (Lennon beating Anderson) to take the title 3-1.

The Scots started the day with a 2-0 victory over Belgium, and repeated that against Japan in the semis.  Lennon and O’Connor, meanwhile, took down Austria, and then saw off the formidable Dutch duo to reach the final.

We must give a special mention to Dawson Murschell, who inflicted a rare singles defeat on Michael van Gerwen, despite the Canadians being edged out in the quarters.
