Cazoo World Cup of Darts – Day 1

The pairing of Danny Lauby Jr. and Chuck Puleo made an impressive start to their 2021 campaign, crusing to a 5-1 victory over Sweden.

A nice 13-dart first leg gave them the perfect kick-off, although Daniel Larsson and Johan Engstrom responded in fine style with a 14-darter. Another 14 dart leg, and the the American lead was restored. Two legs later, it was 4-1, and a tidy leg of 16 darts sealed the win. Danny recorded three maximum 180’s during the match.

Elsewhere, there were comfortable wins for the Netherlands and Scotland, while tournament favorites Wales dropped only two legs in beating Finland. Once again, Paul Lim proved the star as Singapore saw off the Gibraltar team in a tense 9-legger, ending the contest with a nice check from 116.

The first round concluded tomorrow night, and the USA now faces Australia (Simon Whitlock and Damon Heta) in the second round on Saturday.
